I have never had a New Year's Party. I might
try it this year if I can do so on a tight budget!
It might turn into a New Year Brunch. I am in
process of reviewing recipes that can be used
for party appetizers and brunch!
Baked Chicken
Tenders with Five-Spice Dipping Sauce
3/4 C Panko style bread crumbs
2 T sesame seeds
1 large egg white
1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder, divided
1/2 tsp salt
1 lb chicken-breast
tenders
DIPPING SAUCE
1 T oil
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 C
ketchup
1 T
brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vinegar
1 1/2 tsp
Worcestershire sauce
Preheat oven to 400
degrees. Grease sheet pan.
In skillet, toast bread crumbs and sesame
seeds
until golden, stirring frequently.
Transfer crumbs
mixture to plate. In
bowl, whisk egg white, 1/2
teaspoon
five-spice powder, and salt until foamy.
Dip tenders in egg mixture,
then in crumb mixture
to coat. Place tenders on sheet pan. Bake 15
minutes or no longer pink inside.
In skillet, heat
oil and saute onion until soft. Stir in
ketchup, sugar, vinegar,Worcestershire sauce,
and remaining five-spice powder. Transfer to
serving bowl and serve with chicken tenders.
SRIRACHA HONEY WINGS
2 T butter
1/2 C Sriracha sauce
1/4 C honey
2 lb (12 ) cooked wings
In pan, melt butter
and whisk in all of the ingredients except the wings.
Simmer 5 minutes on
low heat. In large bowl toss wings with the
sauce. Place in oven
on warm until ready to serve.
QUICK TERIYAKI
CHICKEN WINGS
2 lb (12) chicken wings
1 1/2 C teriyaki sauce
Cooking oil
Marinate chicken
wings in teriyaki sauce overnight. Drain wings and coat with a little oil. Cook
on hot grill pan until golden brown and no
longer pink inside.
MINI PEPPERONI PIZZAS
2- 6 count packs English
muffins
16 oz can pasta sauce
Italian seasoning, to
taste
7 oz pack pepperoni
slices
8 oz pizza blend shredded
cheese
Preheat oven 375
degrees. Foil lined sheet pan
Separate muffins and
place on sheet pan. Spoon pasta
sauce on each muffin.
Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
Top each muffin with
4 slices of pepperoni. Add cheese
and place in
oven. Bake 7 minutes or until cheese is
bubbly and light
brown. i
Pimento Deviled Eggs
Dozen large eggs,
hard-cooked and shelled
1/4 C pimentos,
chopped
1/4 C mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp salt
Slice each egg
lengthwise in half and remove yolks. Place in small bowl and mash with fork Stir in pimentos, mayonnaise, mustard, and
salt. Mix well. Spoon yolk mixture into egg white halves. Garnish with paprika.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
RED ONION DIP
1 T olive oil
1 large red onion,
finely chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground black
pepper
1/8 tsp ground thyme
8 oz sour cream
In skillet, heat the oil. Add the
onion and cook, until soft and golden brown. Remove the pan from
the heat and stir in garlic, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt,
pepper, and thyme. Let
cool completely. In bowl add onion
mixture to sour cream. Stir and
mix well. Chill until ready to serve.
PARTY BISCUITS ROLL UPS
2-10 count flaky refrigerator biscuits
2 packs - 8 count cooked sausage links
8 oz mild shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease sheet
pan. Separate and flatten 16 biscuits.
Sprinkle flattened biscuits with cheese.
Place link sausage on each biscuit and
roll up tight. Place seam side down on
sheet pan.
Bake 8 minutes or until golden brown.
Transfer to service platter.
TIP:
RECIPE CAN BE DOUBLED.
BOWL OF HONEY MUSTARD
CAN BE USED FOR DIPPING.
PEPPER BACON BREAD STICKS
2- 12 count plain bread sticks
16 oz pack of bacon
1/2 tsp black pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line sheet pain with foil.
Cut 12 slices of bacon in half. Wrap ends of 24 bread
sticks with bacon. Place seam side down on pan. Sprinkle
bacon with pepper.
Bake until bacon is golden brown and crisp. Drain well
on paper towels. Transfer to serving platter.
BACON WRAPPED LITTLE SMOKIES
pack of mini smoke sausages
12 oz pack bacon
jar honey mustard salad dressing
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line sheet pain with foil.
Cut 12 slices of bacon in half. Wrap sausages with the bacon. Place seam side down on pan.
Bake until bacon is golden brown and crisp. Drain well
on paper towels. Transfer to serving platter.
