LABOR DAY CUPCAKE EXPLOSION!

MY DIY AMERICANA WREATH

I want a quick desserts during Americana Holidays like Labor Day & July 4th. I love
to grill all types of food too. The grilling prep time is extensive. I usually do easy cupcakes.  I have bought cupcakes I when
I was in a pinch for time. I prefer to bake my own since I mastered quick decorating methods. I also have other shortcuts for the cupcakes.  I embellish cake mixes and store bought frosting.  Here are cupcake ideas and cake mix baking tricks:

TIPS:

CAKE MIX MAGIC

I use white cake mix instead of yellow because less cake mix taste. Batter will
still be yellow due to yolks in eggs. I do
use a stick of soft butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring, & 1 cup milk to batter
so cupcakes will taste home made. I add brewed coffee instead of water to  my chocolate & red velvet cake mixes. I
avoid overcooking cupcakes by cooking
them less than 10 minutes. I place the cupcakes on Dollar Store clear cupcake stands for special touch.

EASY FROSTING DECOR

I purchased holiday cake picks @ craft
store & online to use for decoration. I
have found Holiday cupcake liners with
flag picks @ Family Dollar Stores. Then I spread frosting smooth then add the pick
in center-piping frosting unnecessary.

Buy vanilla frosting and use food color to make seasonal colors ( red for Americana, Valentine & Christmas, & green for St.
Patty Day). I don't use too much food color because it will affect
taste of frosting.

I add 1-2 tablespoons soft cream cheese and/ or soft butter, and  vanilla extract to store bought frosting ( store brand ok). I whip it with a fork until smooth & creamy-tastes homemade!
